On the first of many stops on my gauntlet of conventions and festivals I trekked out to Orlando Anime Day with several friends. The event was everything I predicted it would be BUT I got some really awesome manga! Holy shit, I had no idea that there were official english graphic novel releases for Fist of the Blue Sky! Not only that, but Bastard!! I’ve been watching the anime for that lately so that is a good get! Best of all, I bought them from my friend Quan who for many years ran Florida Oriental Trading until it had to close down recently. It was really awesome to see him again! (He’s doing well and getting bills paid, for those who know him.)
Quan is planning to be at AFO guys; so buy from his booth!
Speaking of AFO, I did some hardcore promoting of the convention there. I think I talked to just about everyone there. There were actually some people who have never heard of the show but I fixed that. Everyone is excited about AFO this year which has me super pumped!
I got to meet some volunteers for AFO and even a couple other panelists. I’ve come to realize that is my thing I get excited about doing at conventions when I talk to others about mine and their’s. I met the hosts of two panels: one being “Japanese Folklore and Urban Legends” and the other “How to Travel Through Time (And Not Become Your Own Grandfather).” So check them out!
I look forward to seeing everyone I met again in four weeks!
