Wanting to make the most of Orlando

Listen everyone, I’ve made a big decision in my life. I’ve been living here in Orlando for six years and it almost feels like every day is the same thing. Life is clearly stagnating and I can not stand that. With the exception of a brief stint in California as a baby, I have lived in Florida my entire life. I’m really starting to feel like I really have to leave and see what else there is in the world. I’m going to make it a goal to be out of here by next year. It might be a good thing to start of the next decade on a new path in life, or rather, moving in forward as opposed to walking in place.

There were some last things I wanted to do before I ever leave this town. I’ve pretty much done everything else that matters here.

1.) Halloween Horror Nights – I’ve been living in Orlando for six years and missed five of these. A lot of friends make a big deal about this every October so I think I should go this time. I was hoping to do so this weekend since I luckily have every night off. If you are a friend who is interested and want to go, get in touch with me!

2.) Zombie Dance – A Comic Shop is throwing their third Zombie Dance on October 30th. Even though I am not a huge comic book fan, I love the people who run that store and would like to go to their party. I bought two tickets and may have a date! We’ll see about that last part…

3.) Dethklok and Mastodon – I am going to this on November 7th. It will be legendary! I haven’t been to concert all year and I’ve never seen a concert at the Hard Rock live(I usually see them at House of Blues). I haven’t decided if I’ll wear my old ass-kicking boots or if I should buy a new pair.

Those are the main things I plan to do. This week gives me a couple things to look forward to as well. There’s an IGDA meeting Thursday and tomorrow is the annual Game Development Advisory Board panel, featuring six movers and shakers from the game industry. As always, it will be very educational.

Until I leave, I’m going to keep working on side projects, making good connections, and helping out students with their assignments and projects.
